The Process

Commissioning a work of art, whether for a public or a private setting, is an exciting adventure. It can seem like a daunting undertaking, but at Goretti Fine Art we aim to make the experience as simple and rewarding for our patrons as possible.

Here’s how the process typically works.

1. You submit a Proposal via our Contact Form. At this stage, you do not need to have any refined ideas, but we encourage you to read our post on the different types and purposes of religious art if you would like help articulating an initial concept.

2. We will respond promptly to set up a time to discuss your vision and the parameters of the prospective project.

3. If we agree that Goretti is a good fit, we will enter a straightforward contract specifying our mutual understanding of the terms of the engagement, the timeline, and the payment plan.

4. We will supply and discuss concept sketches to ensure aesthetic alignment from the earliest stages of the project, with ample touch-points as the work progresses to completion.

We are committed to your satisfaction. Every project is unique, but in most cases we take the primary payment upon delivery of the final product and rarely accept even an initial payment until a concept is approved.

While we retain ultimate creative control, we understand that the details of a project can evolve, especially in the context of active construction. To that end, when relevant, we coordinate closely with architects and other key decision makers to ensure consistency with the larger building programs of which our work is a part.

We believe that producing beautiful artwork is one of the ways in which human beings most closely realize their foundational vocation to reflect the Divine image. This dignity is not the exclusive domain of the artist! By playing an essential role in the process, patrons can participate in the tremendous privilege of cooperating with the unfolding drama of Creation.
